The Night We Were Kings

Made in 2012 by five students Chloé Nicolay, Manddy Wyckens, Anthony Lejeune, Gaspard Sumeire, Léa Justum, "The Night We Were Kings" is a short, 2D animation about a simple journey of two lovers off to witness a breath taking view of the sun rise.
I ran into this animation while browsing webneel.com and this just really stuck with me because it reminded me so much of that special relationship. One where even in silence, there's an atmosphere of rich communication that's thriving due to this unexplained synchronicity. The two characters clearly have these greater ambitions than to be hung over, thus leaving the party (in the opening scene) and driving off to get away from the noise, away form the city, away from it all, to be alone together.
Pulling this story all together, the style this animation and the character designs were very well done. It a style I would like for some of the stories that accompany my songs.
