IT SHOULD BE A LAW, THAT AN ARTIST SHOULD HAVE DEEP MEANING BEHIND EVERY PIECE OF WORK THEY DO.....PERIOD. - Postac'

......PERIOD!!

I know this may sound like this is a universal law already but the same forces that summon people to pile up at the checkout right when I'm ready to check out, and make me late for work because the only thing backing up traffic are nosy people, I have somehow had the unfortunate pleasure of running into stunning works of art....without a purpose!

Nothing agitates me more than hearing an artist say "yeah I just painted it because I thought it looked nice" or seeing the "No comment" under the description of the art. It almost seems impossible for an artist to not know why they've create a work of art! An artist's unique ability to project the intangible aspect of humanity, onto something tangible, is the ability to capture the essence of life, a moment in time, and/or an idea from the perspective of the artist. Ultimately meaning the artist and the piece are one.

The most important aspect of a piece of art, is what it means to the artist and what inspired the creation of a piece. Perhaps these run in were people who were just not aware of the deeper meaning. Maybe it looked nice because it was the colors of the artists great grandmother who would always ware something similar to that piece. Whatever it is, please find it, and give your art purpose!

So to ease this frustration, everyday I will (try to) get an artist to talk about the meaning behind they're work of art! I shall call it "ART WITH HEART"

I'll do the honors and kick off this new series, here is the meaning behind a few songs from my album, A Reason:

Mirror

Mirror was one of the first of the 13 songs inspired by the book Clone by Sniffcode.com, because of it's title, Clone. I was playing with the idea of what the life must've been like for the original copy of the cloned character in the book, Joey II.
I imagined Joey's life (the original) as a boy who's an out cast from the other kids because of his creative ideas, expansive imagination, and love of science. I envision he's being taken on field trip to a science lab for the first time and is taken back by all of the buttons and lights which follow the commands of long equations to control various devices. The music is representing all of these machines operating in harmony, and Joey begins to think of all these ideas and what he could do if he had these tools and what things he could accomplish.

At about 1:14, Joey's gets his own little lab together and starts his journey with a few drops as you hear at 1:18 and 1:31 is where his life takes off till we get to the end and he's looking upon a glowing green tube with an embryo inside.
The beat links the two representing the heart of both Joey II and Joey (the original).

Turning Over A New Leaf - The Life of the Insignificant Artist

So this blog was supposed to be about something interesting and related to my music, Postac' somehow, yet I've been coming up with dumb ideas for posts (if ideas come at all) and posting random crap so there's at least SOMETHING posted. Not the best tactic in the world for an interesting blog since it may be leaving my umm "viewers", in the dark about what this blog is actually about.

It's really tough coming up with a blog for a musician. Especially one who has yet to perform a show, diving into an undefined music genre, and doesn't really have much a life (since the previous one came crashing down....buuut that's another story), all on top of aiming to get my name out there, play awesome shows, and relate to others out there like me, or not like me. As I thought about these additional odds stacked against me, further depressing my uninteresting life, I realized, What hell, why not blog about the tales of a real life Postac' musician. An insignificant artists who is even more so unknown creating music in an unknown genre.

This blog will from this point forward, will be about living life as a "Postac"(Polish word *no direct translation* - An external form, the definition of essence) going through hardship, success (hopefully), aspiring to convince the world that his music is worth the double take.

I hope this will be valuable to musicians, artists, and whoever, as I post my experience as creative individual trying to burst through the clutter.

 Let's see what happens.

(Just want to clarify that I although have some idea of where my music falls, and know that not all music fit into a concrete genre, but I've been having trouble finding an appropriate category for my music. If you feel differently or have comments, feel free to voice your opinion on my twitter, facebook, or this blog)

GETTING A TELEKINETIC GIRL TO PROMOTE THE MOVIE CARRIE!!

This genius promotion for the remake of 'Carrie' was just perfect! Although they weren't able to get a girl with telekinetic abilities to do this, they set up this coffee shop to make it LOOK like there really was a girl with these abilities. Most of the people in the coffee shop are in on the performance, blocking wires and what not but the unsuspecting coffee buyers are none the wiser, and their faces are just priceless!

7 Amazing Midi Controlers

Whilst partaking in my unmatched "need a life" skills of surfing the web, I fell upon these amazing controllers that have blown my mind!! Hope you enjoy this as much as I did!!

The Station Midi:

This awesome midi controller was custom built by Ander making it one of a kind! So much space and control I just may have to make one of my own!

Check out this video to see this baby in action

The Beatjazz:

Made by Onyx Ashanti through the awesome power of Indiegogo, he's constructed a controller that allows you to become one with your music, literally, using your body movements and air to activate your sound!

Check it out here

DSC Digital Sound Control x All In One DJ Station:

Sorry I know this is a DJ system, but I added this because it looks cool....and convenient...but mostly cool! Equipped with a touchscreen, multicolor hardware lighting, DJ set up with pads! *salivating*

Watch Richard LeBennett test this bad boy out here!

VMeter USB Midi Controller:

This is a simple, yet fun little tool with the ability to be used with almost any computer program which makes this nice for electronic music performances. It's a multi purpose controller so it can be used as a slider or touch pad giving you the utmost control.

The company gives a good example here
You can also buy one for $50 here.

The AirPiano:

First there was analog, then there was touchscreen, now it's TOUCH FREE. Yep a midi and osc controller where you control the faders and keys with hand movements above the midi surface! I would love to rock the crap out of the air piano!

You're really gonna want to see THIS (start at like 2:12)

It only ships to Europe and Canada
(lucky***) but YOU guys can buy it here
if you have $1,100

The Soundplane:

I really love this concept. Who needs flashy lights, stainless steal bodies, and plastic knobs when you go O' naturale! What's so "natural" about this electronic product? Well this wooden
midi controller sense pressure on top
of the normal funtions of a midi
controller, giving it an acoustic feel.
Thank Randy Jones for this controller
and his willingness to spread the
                                                                                        wealth.
                                                                                        Take a look here
Learn to make your own here

Misa Digital Guitar:

Sorry another odd ball in the group, but with guitar being my native instrument, of course I've gravitated to this monster of a controller. Unlike the stringed midi guitars, this has a multi touch pad that seems to have endless possibilities for your fingers to control and manipulate sound how you want. This has to be my favorite digital tool that is on top of my buy list!

Take a look at what this bad boy can
do here

Empires' Temporary Shutdown

Government Shutdown

So my father calls me today during his normal work hours and leaves me a message opening with:

"Join me Luke and together we can rule the galaxy as father and son! (laughing) Hey son, Gotta little free time today with the government shutdown and all, so I thought I give you a call..."

This had me splitting my sides because It was like Vader calling Luke after the announcement of the empires' temporary shutdown. So I just had to make this:
