......PERIOD!!
I know this may sound like this is a universal law already but the same forces that summon people to pile up at the checkout right when I'm ready to check out, and make me late for work because the only thing backing up traffic are nosy people, I have somehow had the unfortunate pleasure of running into stunning works of art....without a purpose!
Nothing agitates me more than hearing an artist say "yeah I just painted it because I thought it looked nice" or seeing the "No comment" under the description of the art. It almost seems impossible for an artist to not know why they've create a work of art! An artist's unique ability to project the intangible aspect of humanity, onto something tangible, is the ability to capture the essence of life, a moment in time, and/or an idea from the perspective of the artist. Ultimately meaning the artist and the piece are one.

The most important aspect of a piece of art, is what it means to the artist and what inspired the creation of a piece. Perhaps these run in were people who were just not aware of the deeper meaning. Maybe it looked nice because it was the colors of the artists great grandmother who would always ware something similar to that piece. Whatever it is, please find it, and give your art purpose!
So to ease this frustration, everyday I will (try to) get an artist to talk about the meaning behind they're work of art! I shall call it "ART WITH HEART"
I'll do the honors and kick off this new series, here is the meaning behind a few songs from my album, A Reason:

Mirror
Mirror was one of the first of the 13 songs inspired by the book Clone by Sniffcode.com, because of it's title, Clone. I was playing with the idea of what the life must've been like for the original copy of the cloned character in the book, Joey II.
I imagined Joey's life (the original) as a boy who's an out cast from the other kids because of his creative ideas, expansive imagination, and love of science. I envision he's being taken on field trip to a science lab for the first time and is taken back by all of the buttons and lights which follow the commands of long equations to control various devices. The music is representing all of these machines operating in harmony, and Joey begins to think of all these ideas and what he could do if he had these tools and what things he could accomplish.
At about 1:14, Joey's gets his own little lab together and starts his journey with a few drops as you hear at 1:18 and 1:31 is where his life takes off till we get to the end and he's looking upon a glowing green tube with an embryo inside.
The beat links the two representing the heart of both Joey II and Joey (the original).
